First edition, February 2020
Written by Choi Un-cho
|
This book vividly chronicles the 78 years of life of Baekbong Kim Ki-chu,
often called "Korea's Vimalakirti." In his youth, he resisted the Japanese oppression on the Korean people. In middle age, he sought to improve the lives of the common people through education and politics. In his later years (at age 56), he entered Buddhism, immersed himself in the 'Nothingness' Koan, and through intense practice, attained enlightenment, discovering the true nature of all dharmas. He then spent the rest of his life roaring like a lion, awakening those who cling to the delusion of believing illusion as reality. This is the story of Baekbong Kim Ki-chu's life and enlightenment. Let's meet in Tusita Heaven
2012. 7 Augmented 2nd edition
Edited by Jang Sun-yong,
|
The teachings of the master are well documented in the numerous books he authored.
However, the sheer volume of his writings makes it difficult to grasp the full scope of his teachings.
Furthermore, the abundance of Chinese characters and archaic expressions makes reading
and understanding difficult for many.![]() To address these challenges, Jang Sun-yong, who studied under the master, reviewed all of his sermons, established a systematic structure for the book, and then selected and refined the grammar to ensure easy understanding.
This is an expanded version of the first edition published by Segyesa in 1996. |

Void Dharma Gate
First edition, December 2010
Edited by Jang Sun-yong
|
The author, Master Baek Bong, lived a life far from Buddhism until the age of 55.
At 56, he began meditating on the koan(hwadu), and attained enlightenment within a year.
Despite having encountered the Diamond Sutra for the first time,
he was so overcome with ecstasy that he composed verses for each chapter of the Sutra overnight. This book offers a comprehensive and uninterrupted sermon, grounded in his own personal experience, rather than traditional Buddhist lecture. This book actively and creatively presents the expedient method of emptiness, which had previously been limited to a passive understanding, presenting the "self as emptiness" as an absolute and subjective source that transcends all relative worlds. Since this "self as emptiness" is the fundamental foundation, it asserts that even birth and death are our right and our own actions. Furthermore, it presents a traditional expedient method of koan based on the "self as emptiness." * Source: Yes24 An expanded edition of [Let's meet in Tusita Heaven], published by Segyesa in 1996.
